Here’s Looking at You Kid‘ produced by Seán Murray and directed by Belfast Director Michael Lennox has won the award for Best Irish Short Film at the Foyle Film Festival. The film was commended by the jury as ‘funny and heartfelt, with an uplifting coda. Natural performances and surrealism made for an effective exploration as to why people would rather hide behind fictional personas than be themselves’.

Michael Lennox is the director behind the phenomenon Derry Girls written by Derry native Lisa McGee. Lennox was the recipient of a BAFTA award and Oscar® nomination for his short film Boogaloo and Graham in 2015.

Producer Seán Murray is the director behind acclaimed documentary Unquiet Graves, an investigation into the British government’s role in the murders of over 120 civilians in the counties of Armagh and Tyrone from July 1972 to 1978.

He is due to release a highly anticipated documentary with George Galloway exploring the circumstances surrounding the 2003 suspicious death of Dr. David Kelly, a biological weapons expert who came to prominence during the discussion around Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction capabilities.
